Tom Hoge’s Quintuple-Bogey Nine at THE PLAYERS is Must-Watch Stuff

A drive in the water, a topped fairway-wood, a baseball swing. Tom Hoge brought the heat with this quintuple bogey.

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. — Tom Hoge posted an opening-round 73 on Thursday, so with a decent day on Friday, he’d be around for the weekend.

It’s safe to say he didn’t get it.

He was 1-under for the day through six holes, but his adventure down the seventh pretty much put the nail in his coffin. I’d love to explain what happened, but watching it is so much better. I’ll just say he made a quintuple-bogey nine. Enjoy.

I mean, drive in the water, topped fairway-wood, baseball swing. This is the most relatable hole I’ve ever seen from a pro. Hoge eventually signed for a Day-2 80 and will miss the cut at THE PLAYERS.
