NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. — If Rory McIlroy needs a foot for the week, he can have mine.
After playing the first few holes of Aronimink’s front nine Tuesday afternoon in preparation for the PGA Championship, McIlroy cut his practice round short, according to ESPN’s Paolo Uggetti.
He was seen taking off his shoe a few times, which makes sense since after the final round of last week’s Truist Championship, McIlroy said he was dealing with a blister.

“I've got a blister on my pinky toe on my right foot,” he said at Quail Hollow. “But it's underneath my nail. So I can't really get to it or so it's a little sore, but I'll be all right.”

Ironically, Mcllroy is slated to play alongside Jon Rahm on Thursday and Friday, two years after the Spaniard was forced to withdraw from the U.S. Open with a foot injury. Talk about bad juju.
Hopefully with some extra rest, McIlroy will be good to go Wednesday or when the tournament kicks off Thursday. He’s scheduled to tee off No. 10 at 8:40 a.m.
