In less than two months, the golfing world will head down Magnolia Lane for the Masters. Blooming azaleas, Georgia pines, pimento cheese sandwiches—it’s all almost ours once again.
On Tuesday, Augusta National sent out its annual media guide, which is chock-full of great nuggets from years past and what to expect this time around. In recent years, the Green Jackets have announced several major changes to the golf course, but 2026 is a different story.

The lone tweak made to the routing is that the front of the 17th tee box was shortened by a dozen yards and the hole will now play 450 yards compared to the 440 yards it boasted during Rory McIlroy’s Career Grand Slam-winning week. (Fun fact: all yardages at Augusta National either end in 0 or 5.)
And I guess since someone mentioned him, let's take a moment and enjoy Rory's approach into Augusta's penultimate hole on Sunday of last year.
