Last week's absolutely bonkers finish in Cincinnati has resulted in a few shifts in the Rolex World Rankings.
With her win, Charley Hull now holds the title as the fifth best player in the world—a career high for her. She jumped three spots from 8th, and this is her third consecutive week inside the top 10 this season.
As one of the leading stars of the LPGA, seeing Hull make headlines for her great play is just an extra boost for women's golf.
It's been a roller coaster of a season for the 29 year old, who has battled illnesses and injuries but seeing her ride this wave (hopefully through the remaining few events of the season) is a positive change.
"I sound like a bit of a car crash," Hull joked after winning on Sunday. After she injured her ankle last month, doctors said that she could be out for nine weeks—but Hull returned in three.
"I suppose pain is just a weakness of the mind," she continued. "Probably does me a bit of a favor sometimes because I end up doing too much, too much gym, practice, overthinking. It's given me time to chill, and that's probably what I needed."
Bad ass.
And she's not alone, her compatriot, Lottie Woad is also making moves and is currently knocking on the top-10 door.
Just six weeks ago she was the top-ranked amateur and now, after a third place finish in Ohio, she's moved up to 11th in the world as a professional.
Seeing her meteoric rise has been one of the best storylines this season, and I don't see Woad really slowing down anytime soon.
She's a force and I think she'll be gunning for number one sooner rather than later.
