The last two weeks of Auston Kim's career have been a whirlwind.
Last week in Singapore, the 25-year-old experienced what it is like to have the solo lead of a professional golf tournament for the first time, with a real shot at earning her first LPGA title, she fell short in the end, but solo second will do just fine, too.
Flash-forward seven days, and she finds herself in a similar position at the Blue Bay LPGA in China. Though this time around, she's not in possession of the outright lead, she's chasing, sitting just two shots behind Mi Hyang Lee, who's setting the pace at 11-under par for the tournament through two rounds.

Kim has fired rounds of 67-68 and collected three birdies, an eagle, and one bogey during the second round. Consistent, strong, but still not quite her best. "I got a little frustrated in the middle of the round and I just had to take a couple of deep breaths and remind myself that I was hitting good shots," she said in her post-round presser. "I just needed to make some putts, and I would be fine."
She hit 12/14 fairways, 10/18 greens, and had 25 putts on the day.
Each day is a building block for the third-year player, and she's using what she learned last week fuel her towards a strong finish.
"I think the third round last week was pretty disappointing result-wise and scoring-wise, but I learned a lot that day and was pretty proud of the way I handled myself even when things weren't working out and I couldn't make my putts or I wasn't scoring that well," she continued to say.
"Heading into tomorrow and heading into the weekend my game is feeling good. I know what I can control and chasing is good...I prefer being in contention either way. Either way it's fine. Just being close to those final groups and getting this experience is good."
