I just love when an episode of a podcast feels like a facetime call between friends, and the most recent edition of the LPGA Tour's in house pod with Charley Hull was exactly that.
Fresh off her win in Cincinnati at the Queen City Championship, Hull joined hosts Hope Barnett and former player Emma Talley to reflect on her win and all the things that are going right in her game right now.
"I can honestly, hand on heart, say that this year I've worked the hardest I've ever worked," claimed Hull, and she's right. Despite having to withdraw from the Evian and missing a handful of events due to an ankle injury late summer, Hull has been putting up some of her best numbers.
With one win under her belt (her career third on the Tour), and three top 10s, including a runner up finish at the AIG Women's Open—the 29 year old has reached her career high in the Rolex World Rankings.
When Talley asked her what does she mean by working harder than ever before, Hull was clear in saying that she means on the golf course.
We know the Brit to be serious about her fitness. Earlier this year she said that one of her biggest goals for 2025 were off the course was to lower her 5k run time to be under 20 minutes in efforts to improve her mental health and overall athleticism, not for golf training.
Hull continued to say, "I've always been a good practicer, but with my putting coach, we've added a lot of performance drills." For her, this helps create moments of tension and adrenaline similar to what she'll face in competition—which she loves most of all.
Another thing that really struck me about this conversation was her continued openness about her mental health and struggles with ADHD. Hull shared that she's also been working with a psycologist this year to help manage her symptoms are really get a handle on her mind, especially off the course.
She even went as far to say that, in being a very independent person, she really struggles with team dynamics and that fitting into the routine of others is difficult for her.
Which is shocking considering that Hull has an overall Solheim Cup record of 15 wins, 9 losses, and 3 ties (15-9-3) across her seven appearances from 2013 to 2024.
The full episode is live on YouTube and when you have a moment give it a watch, because it's really lovely to see one of women's golf biggest stars be so open, candid, and above all else casual and cool as hell—which is why we love her!
