Justin Thomas Turned a 20-Foot Birdie Opportunity Into a Double at the U.S. Open—Not Good!

This is nightmare fuel.

These guys aren’t getting a bunch of birdie looks at Oakmont, so when they do get one, they have to capitalize. Justin Thomas wasted one and then some on Friday morning of the U.S. Open.

After a bogey on the par-4 11th, Thomas hit his third shot into the par-5 12th to just inside 23 feet. Not exactly a kick-in, but a makable opportunity nonetheless.

His birdie effort ran by the hole a bit, but all he had was a three-footer. But then the nightmare started. Don’t watch this if you get sick easily.

From a look at birdie to a double-bogey six. Carnage! Oakmont! U.S. Open! Let’s have a day.
