This week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Justin Thomas makes his 2026 PGA Tour season debut after being sidelined by injury since November of last year. The start will not only give us a look into Justin's game around the tough Bay Hill Club, but will also offer insights as he prepares for the Players next week and The Masters in a month.
Although we won't get insights into his game until he tees it up on Thursday, thanks to our friends at GolfWRX, we can gain some insight into his gear, including one big change to his set, and a couple of others that remain staples.

The biggest change to Justin's set are his grips, and it looks like he has moved into the Golf Pride Tour Velvet Aligns from his previous Tour Velvet cords. The align grips feature a raised ridge along the back of the grip (traditionally known as a rib) to help golfers find consistant grip placement on the club.
From a stock grip prespective, ribbed gribs have become slightly less popular since most drivers and fairway woods feature adjustability, but for players on the PGA tour and for golfers in general they are still a popular option for anyone who is looking for that locked in grip feel.

** It should be noted that even though these are older models, it looks as if JT or Titleist has hoarded some old stock because these both look pretty darn new. **

The TS3 came out in 2018, while the 915FD came out in 2015, and thats the one I really want to talk about.

What makes the 915FD special is that it was the first Titleist fairway wood to feature ARC, Titleist's Active Recoil Channel behind the face to help increase ballspeeds on lower face strikes. And, secondly, the 18° 915FD was never a full retail release and instead was part of the Titleist Custom MOTO program (Made Only o Order), meaning you could only order it thourgh select accounts.
Other clubs included in this program at the time were the 915D4, and the full TMB iron set - Titleist's original hollow body players irons.
As for JT he's talked extensively about his love for his 18° 915FD 5-wood, saying he loves the versatility it offers, and it could come in handy this week around Bay Hill.
