The Worst Secret In Golf: Fujikura's Ventus TR Black and Red Have Arrived

To help golfers find a better fit, Fujikura is expanding its Ventus TR line to include Red & Black profiles in a large variety of weights and flexes.

I hate for this to sound like I'm being dismissive, but in what could be the most predictable launch in the history of golf shafts, Fujikura is officially announcing the addition of the Red and Black profiles to the updated Ventus TR line featuring VeloCore +.

Let me re-state, this is not a bad thing, in fact, it's a great thing for golfers who need additional fitting options in their drivers and fairway woods, but if you're expecting me to act surprised like they haven't done this since the launch of the original Ventus in 2018, well, I'm sorry.

Now, on a more serious note, what this truly demonstrates is how the engineers at Fujikura know they have a winning formula for shaft design and fitting, and these new options add to the full line of Ventus shafts that are on the market.

What Makes TR Better?

The tool that helps Fujikura continue to innovate in the shaft space is their proprietary enso® 3D motion capture testing technology. By getting a detailed look at how different portions of the shaft can be tuned to deliver results, Fujikura can test how performance characteristics and materials affect the end result.

From there, they can then combine that with qualitative player testing feedback to produce the various flex and weight profiles to fit golfers across the board.

The new construction matches Fujikura’s spread tow fabric with its VeloCore+ technology to deliver maximum consistency and improved energy transfer without sacrificing the feel and stability golfers have come to expect.

The moment we started testing and monitoring the performance data, we saw notable improvements across the board - a more consistent strike pattern, better centeredness of contact and, for many players, greater clubhead and ball speed. We’ve kept what golfers already love about Black and Red, but taken the performance to a new level.

Which Option Is Best For You?

Blindly recommending shafts to golfers really isn't my thing, and Fujikura believes this too, which is why they rely so strongly in their authorized dealer network of fitters. But, that doesn't mean we can't help you understand who these are designed to hit fit.

With the Blue already being an established option for golfers who are looking for a stable golf shaft that can help with dispersion, the Red and Black shafts fit on the either side of that spectrum.

The Red has an overall softer mid section and tip section, which can help increase dynaimic loft at impact for players who are looking to for a bit more launch and spin. This make it a great option in the driver, but for many golfers, an even better option in the fairway wood to help add a bit more pop.

On the other hand, the Black is the stiffest of the bunch and features a stiffer mid section and tip to add stability for faster swingers who tend to "pull the handle more" and load the shaft in more during the transition from the backswing.
