*In Partnership with Fujikura Golf*
There's no better prep for that biennial showdown between the Americans and the Europeans than getting together with two guys who are extremely well versed in New York sports culture and going out for a round at one of the most stunning courses in the city.
Former NY Giant and two-time Super Bowl champion Justin Tuck and former NY Ranger captain Jacob Trouba spent a day with the Skratch and Fujikura teams getting an in-depth fitting session before teeing it up at Bally's Ferry Point in the Bronx.
As you can imagine, the round was filled with some trash talk and plenty of good shots exchanged between the three of us during our special five-hole match.
Yeah, you read that correctly, I took on two professional athletes in a head-to-head match up and almost had them beat.
We tackled a few of the signature holes out at Bally's with Manhattan as the backdrop—it couldn't have been more perfect.
Both Tuck and Trouba shared a few stories about their experiences living in the city and being on teams backed by some of the most passionate fans in the world. They're rowdy, their trash talking is elite, but the former Ranger said it best, "when they're behind you, they go all out."
I had these guys on their toes, but something unlocked in them and those Fuji shafts were dialed.
Be sure to watch how our match played out.
