Odyssey Celebrates Happy Gilmore 2 With New Hockey Stick Putter

One of my favorite phrases is "Just because you take your job seriously, doesn't mean you have to take yourself seriously," and in the world of golf clubs, there is no club that better exemplifies this than the Hockey Stick putter by Odyssey.

Now, almost 30 years since it made its glorious mark on the golf world in Happy Gilmore, Odyssey is bringing it back with a whole new look to celebrate the release of Happy Gilmore 2.

The Design Details

Beyond the obvious "it looks like a hockey stick," it's the small details that make this thing pop.

First off, there is the sock head cover featuring Boston Bruins colors and HAPPY woven into the fabric, along with the Odyssey logo.

Next is the 21" pistol grip to help properly position your hands to take a slap shot... I mean putt.

And finally, there is the true-to-form Odyssey White Hot insert (which has to be at least ten times bigger than a normal insert) on the face of the putter, outlined by yellow "tape" accents.

Is it gonna help you make more putts? I have no idea, and highly doubt it.

But is there a putter on the planet that's going to stir up more fun conversations and movie quotes? Not a chance!

Now, at this point, I don't know what more to tell you, beyond it's a very fun and very well-designed functional putter that also happens to look like a hockey stick. Although I should tell you that Odyssey makes it very clear from the start that the putter does NOT conform to the rules of golf, so for any of you Happy Gilmore wannabes looking to break this out in your club championship, you better be prepared to be DQ'd.

Along with the release of the putter, Callaway is also releasing limited edition Chrome Tour Truvis patterned golf balls featuring popular visuals and quotes from the original movie.

Availability

The putter will be available on July 25th to coincide with the release of Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix, and is priced at $500. The golf balls are available starting today and are priced at $60 a dozen.
