Will Zalatoris' Return is on the Horizon

Will Zalatoris last teed it up at the PGA Championship thanks to another back surgery, but his return is on the horizon.

In May, Will Zalatoris announced he underwent another back surgery to address two re-herniated disks. At the time, he said we was looking forward to seeing everyone in the fall after waking up and feeling good. Well, I guess the time has come.
Zalatoris is listed in the field for the Nedbank Golf Challenge, otherwise known as “Africa’s Major.” He made his debut at the event a year ago and tied for 18th.
There are four events left on the FedExCup Fall schedule, so Zalatoris could sneak a start in before the Nedbank, which is slated for December 4-7 (the same weekend as Tiger Woods’ Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas). But if he doesn’t, this would be his first start since missing the cut at the PGA Championship. In 11 starts earlier this season, Zalatoris made nine cuts and finished inside the top 25 three times.
In a young career that’s been plagued with injury, the one-time PGA TOUR winner deserves a healthy campaign. Let’s hope that comes in 2026.
