Phil Mickelson Checked Into a Facility Seeking 'Treatment for Family Trauma and Addiction'
While he's been away from golf, Phil Mickelson sought treatment for "family trauma and addiction."
According to a new report from TMZ, Phil Mickelson recently checked himself into a facility to seek “treatment for family trauma and addiction,” a representative of Mickelson told TMZ Sports. He's already completed his stay, according to TMZ.
On February 1 of this year, Mickelson announced he would be missing the first two LIV Golf events of the season to deal with a family health matter. He played in LIV Golf South Africa in the middle of March, but on April 2, he announced he’d be missing the Masters and an extended period of time to “navigate a personal health matter.”
Since the event in South Africa, he has not played competitively.

In June, Skratch published an exclusive feature detailing allegations against Mickelson of past misconduct, including lewd language and unwanted advances.
Mickelson’s future in golf remains cloudy, and with LIV’s existence hanging in the balance, his eventual return to the sport is uncertain.
