The LPGA Might Have Its Next Sister Duo

Over the course of the LPGA's 76-year history, the special connection of sister duos has been one of its quiet constants, with family ties often softening the edges of an otherwise individual grind. From Nelly and Jessica Korda bringing global star power as one of the Tour's most recognizable sibling pairings, to the steady, career-long partnership of Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn, sisters have consistently left their mark on the game.

More recently, Japan's rising duo: the Iwai twins Akie and Chizzy has added another chapter, showing how elite talent (and epic dance moves) can run in tandem within the same family, both collecting wins in their rookie season. Looking back further to figures like Annika Sörenstam and her sister underscore how deeply these sibling stories are woven into the sport's history. And we're close to having yet another pair of sisters joining the next generation of women's golf stars in Kiara and Kaleiya Romero.

We've been familiar with Kiara and her game for a few years now, thanks to her budding talent being showcased in amateur events like the Augusta National Women's Amateur and Curtis Cup. The top ranked am is actually just two points shy of earning her LPGA membership through LEAP points, so the odds of us seeing her turn pro are very, very high.

Through all her major milestones, she usually has big sis on her bag, but Kaleiya has been chasing her own dream on the Epson Tour, and it's paying off.

Kaleiya has been collecting one hell of a resume on the LPGA's official qualifying Tour, going 10 for 10 on cuts made, earning 5 top-10s and her first pro win this past week in Michigan.

The Pepperdine grad won in a sudden death playoff to hoist her first Epson victory, and walked away with $33,7500 and 500 points in Race for the Card standings. She also punched her ticket to the Epson Tour Championship later this year in October which will bring her one step closer to the LPGA.

Earlier this year, we got a glimpse of what the future could look like when Kiara and Kaleiya Romero teed it up together at the U.S. Women's Open at Riviera. Both sisters made the weekend, and Kiara capped off a memorable week by earning low amateur honors with a top-10 finish.

It was one of the coolest storylines of the championship, and it's one that will only get better as they each begin their journey toward the LPGA. There's something special about watching sisters chase the same dream in one of the most individual sports in the world. Every milestone—from junior golf to the biggest stages in the game—is a little more meaningful when you get to share it with your sibling.
