Can Wyndham Clark Stay Hot? Three Picks for the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open

The Genesis Scottish Open and The Open is arguably my favorite two-week stretch on golf’s calendar, right up there with the U.S. Open and Travelers Championship. The early alarms, a few cups of coffee, links golf—does it get any better than that?

And yes, people find ways to complain about the Renaissance Club. But whenever I get to watch golf on the other side of the pond, you won’t hear any of that nonsense from me.

The best part? The field’s loaded. Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, Chris Gotterup, Tommy Fleetwood, Ludvig Aberg, Jon Rahm. Yeah, that’ll do.

Before the action gets underway early Thursday morning, let’s go over a few players I like to be in contention come Sunday.

Players to Watch at the Genesis Scottish Open

Wyndham Clark (27/1 to Win, +125 for Top-20 Finish)

Clark is balling. It’s as simple as that. Since missing the cut at the PGA Championship, he's won THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, finished third at the Memorial, tied for 11th at the RBC Canadian Open, won the U.S. Open, and grabbed a share of fifth at the Travelers Championship.

Like I said, balling.

Plus, he’s played some great golf at the Renaissance: T-11 (2025), T-10 (2024), T-25 (2023), and T-16 (2022). So, yeah, I feel okay rocking with the hot hand at a course he’s performed well at over the last five years.

Tyrrell Hatton (30/1 to Win, +110 for Top-20 Finish)

Before leaving for LIV Golf, Hatton made several appearances at the Renaissance Club, tying for sixth in 2023, for 24th in 2022, for 18th in 2021, and for 14th in 2019.

As for what he’s been up to lately, he won his last LIV start in Spain about a month ago, and tied for seventh at the U.S. Open.

Tom Kim (70/1 to Win, +230 for Top-20 Finish)

I had TK on the card last week—he just couldn’t make enough birdies to keep up at the John Deere Classic—but I think this is another great spot for him.

He’s played at the Renaissance four times in his career, and he’s never finished outside the top 20: third (2022), T-6 (2023), T-15 (2024), T-17 (2025). So getting a top-20 finish at +230 feels like a steal. Plus, the strong field pushed him down the odds board a bit, and I love that value at 70/1.
