The Minimum Finish Required (for Each Player) to Earn a Spot in the TOUR Championship

It all comes down to this. The 20 players currently ranked 31st-50th in the FedExCup Standings have one more chance to surge up the points list and earn a spot in next week’s TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club—and there are some pretty big names who fall into that group.

Sahith Theegala is 46th, Justin Thomas is 44th, Patrick Cantlay is one spot better at No. 43, Ben Griffin is 38th, and Jake Knapp is right there at 35th. Some players will need something special, while others will simply need a solid week at the BMW Championship, which is being staged at Bellerive Country Club. The last time we saw this St. Louis track was the 2018 PGA Championship, won by Brooks Koepka.

Every year, the TOUR’s Paul Hodowanic releases each player’s required minimum finish to move up into the safe zone, and it’s a great tool to have as you’re watching all the action.
