Titleist's Black Vapor T-Series Irons Are Real, and They're Spectacular

There is nothing quite like a mid-season kick-start, and even with the Titleist T-Series being one of the most popular irons in golf at the consumer and professional level, the line is getting a full finish refresh with a limited-edition black vapor offering. To be clear, same irons, new look.

As for the look, the finish is applied through a PVD treatment to produce the deep black coloring—the same type of process Titleist used for the modern Oil Can. This finishing technique offers solid durability while also minimizing the reflective nature of the iron and reducing smudging.

To go along with the custom finish, the irons can also be ordered with Golf Pride Tour Velvet Blackout grips and True Temper Onyx shafts to complete the Black Vapor styling. And, in true Titleist fashion, these limited-edition irons are fully available right- and left-handed and can be custom-ordered in combo sets.

The T-Series Tech Details

T100

The T100 utilizes the tungsten cavity to increase MOI but has more mass behind the center of the face for a more dense and solid feel.

The T100 also now come with a muscle channel in the longer irons (technology that debuted in the T150s) to improve ball speed and launch condition consistency in the longer irons.

T150

Sitting between the T100 and the new T250, the T150 offers a combination of higher launch and lower spin to stretch distance gapping and add forgiveness.

Like the T100 the T150 features updated internals for more forgiveness, a thicker area behind the center of the face for better feel, and the improved groove design.

T250 and T350

The re-engineered bodies of the T250 and 350 create a more solid structure and allow the internal max impact technology to fit tighter against the forged L face. The soles have been redesigned to provide enhanced playability for almost any lie, and from a shaping perspective, both irons now have a more progressive blade length (overall size from the toe to the heel), so the mid irons flow better into the wedges.

Price & Availability

The T-Series Black Vapor irons will be available in all models in both right and left-handed, and will be in golf shops starting on July 23rd, with the pre-sale starting today.

They are priced at $285 per club with steel and $299 per club with graphite shafts, and can be custom-ordered to make blended sets.

The three engraved hosel lines encourage the correct address positions for three specific short-game shots (as per Titleist):

Bump and run: The back line promotes a setup for low, controlled shots that release out to the hole.

Pitch shots: The middle line creates a more neutral shaft angle to engage the bounce and generate spin.

Flop shots: The forward line opens the clubface and sets the shaft angle for high, soft shots.

Price & Availability

The new Vokey SM11 Black Vapor wedges with Flight Lines will be in golf shops worldwide beginning July 23, and will be priced at $250 before additional customization. They will be right-handed only.

The wedges will be offered in all core SM11 grind and bounce combinations through custom order in lofts of 48–60.
