With the new ZXiR irons, the design goals were simple: with the help of new materials, create a game-improvement iron that delivers forgiveness, ball speed, shot-stopping height and spin, soft feel, and make it uniquely Srixon.
Mission accomplished!
"With the introduction of our new game improvement irons, and for the first time ever, a super game improvement model, Srixon is opening the door for more golfers to experience the performance and feel our irons are celebrated for," Jeff Brunski, Vice President of Research & Development said. "These additions represent a new chapter in our innovation journey, bringing the advanced technologies and premium craftsmanship players expect from Srixon and making them available to all levels of players.
i-Alloy
Just like how they created Z-alloy in the development of the Cleveland RTZ wedges (remember that Cleveland and Srixon live under the larger Dunlop Sports umbrella), Srixon developed i-Alloy for the ZXiR irons.

This i-Alloy is 10 percent softer than 431 steel, which is traditionally used in the game-improvement iron category and helps to deliver a softer and more refined level of feedback, making them feel more like a single piece forged iron.
MainFrame Milling
To help golfers maintain ball speed and distance on shots hit around the face away from the sweet spot, the engineers redesigned the mainframe milling pattern found on the back of the face through the set to help boost rebound speeds.

Using real impact data from thousands of shots from game improvement players, the sweet spot is strategically positioned lower on the face where most players make contact. Because of this, each face is tuned to deliver better ball speed, more efficient energy transfer, and tighter dispersion.
Tour V.T. Sole
A staple in the Srixon iron lineup continues to live on. The exaggerated “V” sole design offers a unique blend of bounce, sole width and heel and toe relief to encourage precise turf interaction and workability. This sole design comes in particularly handy on a wider sole iron like the ZXiR to improved efficiency through the ground, especially for golfer who might tend to miss shots fat.
Additional HL Model
As a compliment to the core ZXiR irons, they will also be available in a ZXiR HL configuration with more loft and lighter overall swing weights to generate more speed, higher launch, higher spin, and more stopping power.
Expanded Premium Customization and Components
The stock shafts are KBS Tour Lite (Steel) and various KBS shafts in graphite, depending on model configuration. Plus, like all other Srixon irons, with the ZxiR irons, Srixon continues its expanded custom options, which include seven custom ferrule options to go along with 20 paint fill options so golfers can make their iron set just their own.
The ZXiR and ZXiR HL Irons will be available for fittings and pre-order starting on December 4th, with the in-store date slated for January 6th.
They will be priced at $1,100 for a 7-piece set in steel and $1200 for a 7-piece set in graphite.
