Srixon Unveils Second-Generation ZXi Irons

New technology, improved feel and a more forgiving ZXi5+ headline the second generation of Srixon's popular iron lineup.

Making a better iron is rarely about simply making it go farther.
For Srixon, the second generation of its ZXi irons is less about chasing another few yards and more about trying to make the whole package work a little harder. The goal is more speed, stability, and forgiveness without giving up the soft, solid feel that has made Srixon's forged irons so popular in the first place.
This is achieved with the continuation of the popular ZXi7, ZXi5, ZXi Utility, and the all-new ZXi5+, a new take on a game improvement club for those looking to add more forgiveness.
From the materials we use to the way each head is forged, shaped, and weighted, every decision was made with feel in mind. It's the hallmark of Srixon Irons and something we've always refused to compromise on. With this generation, we pushed that philosophy even further, creating irons that perform at the highest level while delivering the rewarding sensation golfers instantly recognize when they've hit one pure.

At the core of the Gen2 ZXi Series irons is MainFrame iQ - a newly engineered face structure found through all of the models but varying in use case based on head construction. The new design was achieved with the help of Artificial Intelligence and simulations to create a face structure that increases speed and impact stability without sacrificing feel.

The PureFrame iQ in the new ZXi7 is the perfect example of how simulations allowed the designers to reposition the cavity ridge behind the center of mass (sweet spot) to thicken the impact area. This works to reduce face deformation at impact, increase stability, and better distribute mass through the set to provide a soft feel.
Also, additional weight redistribution helps to increase forgiveness in the longer irons, while also inversely increasing workability in the shorter clubs.

i-Forged Process

The biggest advancement in the ZXi iron line is the introduction of the i-Forging process - the “i” stands for impact. This improved forging process better compacts and condenses the metal, which allowed designers to use a softer carbon steel to not only improve overall feel but also make thinner areas of the head stronger. The result is a stronger internal structure and improved performance through the full iron line.

Tour V.T. Sole

This staple feature in the Srixon iron lineup continues to live on in the Gen 2 Zxi Irons. The exaggerated “V” sole design offers a unique blend of bounce, sole width and heel and toe relief to encourage precise turf interaction and workability. It will also continue be included in the ZXi Utility's design, after it was added to the utility club in the last generation.

Built to allow for top-to-bottom integration (almost all of Srixon staff players use some version of a combo set), each model is built to perform for specific player profiles.

This solid forged iron features tungsten in the toe for increased stability, and is the go-to choice for Srixon staffer or any golfer who puts a premium on control and feel.

ZXi5

The ideal iron to help build out a combo set and add speed on the top end, or build a full set around forgiveness and consistency.

ZXiU Utility

The ZXi Utility is a staple among the best players in the game and offers a compact look, solid feel, and a tour VT sole for smooth turf interaction.

ZXi5+

This new addition to the the ZXi series irons blends forged feel and consistency into a package designed to help golfers find more forgiveness and distance.
With the inclusion of the ZXiR and ZXiR HL Iron series serving the needs of game-improvement golfers, we saw an opportunity to introduce a fully forged hollow Players Distance Iron for those seeking more distance and forgiveness in a more tour-authentic package. Our ZXi5 Irons have been, and will continue to be, phenomenal performers but the addition of ZXi5+ allows us to fit a broader range of golfers within the series.
