To give golfers even more options on the greens, Odyssey is simplifying its S2S Tri-Hot series with an all-new black finish.

Odyssey is joining the ranks of other manufacturers this year by changing up one of its biggest putter lines and offering it in a new all-black finish.

Sure it might seem simple, but these putters fill a big demand for the growing population of golfers that prefer to have something more subtle in their bag, compared to a bright red anodized flat-stick. But even with the looks sharper and cleaner than ever, this new release will come with all the save technology as the core S2S and S2S SB (Single Bend) putters, that golfers have come to love.

No matter what you call it, stroke balanced, square-2-square (S2S), or zero-torque, these putters are designed to accomplish the same thing: keep the face square to the arc of the putting stroke to increase consistency at impact.

In the case of the new S2S Tri-Hot putters, they are achieving this engineering challenge with the help of advanced materials like tungsten to move the shaft closer to the face than ever before in a square-to-square design.

This makes the putter appear more traditional from address and easy to align. It also eliminates the forward shaft lean and need for special forward press grips that have been a sticking point for a lot of golfers hesitant to try this type of balanced putter.

Multi-Material Utilization

The new S2S Tri-Hot putters use over 140 grams of tungsten in the head to help position more than 80 percent of the putter's mass under the topline. This mass shift not only helps to create the zero-torque design, but it also allows the putter to have an extremely high moment of inertia to increase forgiveness.

The rear of the putter is milled from aluminum, which is just under 14 times lighter than tungsten when comparing their mass to volume values of (2.7g cm3) vs (19.3g cm3).

Ai-Dual Insert

The new Ai-Dual insert serves a dual purpose (see what I did there?). It promotes consistent ball speeds and feel on putts hit around the face, thanks to its Ai architecture that uses urethanes of varying densities, and it promotes forward ball roll.

The improved forward ball roll is made possible by a more aggressive 19-degree slope angle built into the deeper face grooves to get the ball rolling forward after impact, and since everything have to have a cool name, Callaway is calling this their new Forward Roll Design groove.

Pistol Plus Grip

You might think a grip is just a grip, but in reality a ton of times goes into grip materials and geometry to make sure golfers feel instantly connected to their putter. For the new Pistol Plus, Callaway's tour team surveyed the most popular putter grips on tour and talked with players to develop a shape that worked with the S2S designs. The result is a new mid-sized pistol grip that combines a pistol shape in the top hand with an almost parallel front side to encourage better club face angle control and alignment.

Price & Availability

The new S2S Tri-Hot Black putters will hit retail shelves on June 12th and will be priced at $600 each.

The available models include the S2S #7 and Jailbird, along with the S2S SB (Single Bend) Rossie, #7, Jailbird, #7 Cruiser
