New golf clubs are expensive, but if you happen to like the clubs you already have and are more interested in a way to make them feel new, then look no further than one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to get back that new club feeling - new grips!

Be Aware Of Wear

Although grips are a critical part of the golf club, they’re by far the most overlooked and ignored.

Your grips are the only connection you have between you and your golf clubs, and you shouldn’t settle for just okay - you should only accept “these feel perfect”. Another reason many golfers are slow to change their grips is that, kinda like a pair of shoes, grips wear slowly over time and day to day or round by round, it's hard to notice the degradation. But, the moment you slip on a fresh pair of shoes you have that “oh wow” feeling again.

You get the same thing when you install fresh grips.

How to choose the right grips

Although the common theory was to size grips based on hand size and or shoot shape, modern fitting techniques as well as industry studies have proven that the most effective grip size is the one that feels the most comfortable in your hands.

And, beyond size there are other factors that play a part in how a grip feels and reacts in your hands like texture, taper, and material. Each one will impact how you grip and react to the changing forces in your swing and the more comfortable you are, the less you’re going to actively think about your grip during the golf swing and you’ll have one less thing to worry about out on the course.
