Not a year goes by without one company or another in the golf gear world introducing something that gets labeled "game-changing", when in reality it's more of a nice progression. However, in 2025, Cobra's updated adapter system, Future Fit 33, also known as FF33, offered a true unlocking of more adjustability and customization, which is exactly why I'm calling it the innovation of the year.
The FutureFit33 adapter system debuted this year in the DS-Adapt line and does what no adapter has done before: offer 33 individual settings to help golfers get dialed into the right ball flight and launch window.
“FutureFit33 is a true breakthrough in metalwood fitting,” said Jose Miraflor, VP of Product Architecture and Consumer Connections at Cobra Puma Golf. “Never before has any hosel system provided 33 unique loft and lie settings that can be adjusted so quickly and easily. 33 settings is more than four times our previous hosel system and more than double our nearest competitor.”

Now, from a fitting perspective, 33 might feel confusing; however, in reality, Cobra made the whole system easy to understand, and even put a QR Code on every club to help golfers go through a simple fit tool to select their setting. This is less about the adapter and more about creating a simple user interface and experience.

Cobra is able to fit 33 settings (there are technically more settings built into the system, but there is some natural overlap, which is why they can’t claim more) by using a secondary collar around the main adapter piece. This is similar to the systems used by Titleist and Callaway but neither one offers the intricacies of the Cobra.

Every year, manufacturers do more to make it easier to fit golfers and provide tools to fitters to help golfers see noticeable improvement.
In the case of adjustability and customization, Cobra's FutureFit 33 provides a truly neutral starting point to give golfers 2 degrees of adjustability for loft and lie in any direction, which, before this system, was unheard of.
So if you have ever found yourself wanting long game adjustability just like the pros, you have in now, and you can thank the engineers at Cobra for it.
