Whether it's cars, computers, or even golf clubs, premium cutting-edge technology generally starts at the very top and filters down, but, in the case of Cobra and the team behind the original consumer-focused 3D Printed irons, they did things a little differently.

The Original Limit3D 3D Printed irons were engineered to offer forgiveness to the widest segment of the golfing population, and now that the concept has been very much proven out, Cobra is ready to branch out even further.

The newest additions to the 3D Printed line of irons from Cobra are the 3DP MB and the super game-improvement 3DP X, designed to provide more golfers with the benefits 3D printing can provide, and also create endless opportunities to build combo sets too.

We’re excited to offer these two new innovative iron models that build on the tremendous success of our 3DP Tour irons. With the addition of the MB and X, we now have a 3D-printed model that can fit the vast majority of players, allowing just about any golfer to benefit from the performance advantages of 3D printing technology.

Where It All Started

As mentioned, the original (truly commercially available) 3D printed iron was the Limit3D model. It was limited to 500 sets globally and was such a success, Cobra soon after gave it the full release treatment and called it the 3DP Tour.

What made the iron unique, and even possible to begin with, was the utilisation of 3D Printing, which allowed engineers to create a complex internal lattice structure to both support the face and also create an extremely soft and pleasing acoustic at impact.

Beyond the added strength, the lattice structure reduced the required mass of the head structure by 33%, allowing engineers to position up to 100 grams of tungsten in the heads to drastically increase forgiveness without expanding the shape of the head.

The result is game improvement type stability, in a club head targeted towards better players.

Like the other irons in Cobra’s 3DP family, each X iron is fully 3D-printed from 316L stainless steel using a DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) process and features an internal lattice structure for weight savings and improved weight distribution.

The New Models

3DP MB

The 3DP MB is the first blade iron that truly pushes the limit of what's possible when it comes to forgiveness in a blade iron. Not "blade-like" or "blade-style", I'm talking a real blade iron, that has the potential to be used by what Cobra considers a 10-handicap.

And, it does all this with zero sacrifice on sound and feel, thanks to the internal lattice and tungsten positioned on the heel and toe.

Utilizing the same tungsten and lattice structure (but uniquely designed for the X model), the iron offers the same feel as the other in the line but with a boosted MOI.

3DP X

Where the MB zigs, the 3DP X zags and delivers bonus forgiveness and speed for golfers who are looking for maximum forgiveness and launch.
