Mondays mean one thing for gear nerds: The joint USGA and R&A conforming clubs and balls list gets updated, which means we get a sneak peek of new clubs likely headed our way soon. Even though the busiest time of the year is from November to January, the list is always being updated, and this week, PXG offers the main attractions with what looks to be their latest line of Lightning drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids.

Just to set the record straight, we don't have any insider info on what is actually going on with this new line, but since both the driver and fairway woods are on the conforming list, its safe to say that what we are seeing is likely very close to the final product.
They look like very streamlined versions of the current Black Ops line, which in my opinion has been PXG's best line for woods they have ever made, hands down. The new Lightning series includes a Tour, Tour Mid, Max 10K and Max Lite, and if my productions are correct, the difference will come down to forgiveness and spin profiles across the models, with the Lite version being a lighter weight version of the Max 10K.
As for the fairway woods, it looks like there will be two models to choose from so far, with those being the Core Lightning and then the Lightning Tour.

The Tour heads look to have two moveable weighst instead of three, and considering the front to back nature of the weight movement I imagine it is to help create various spin profiles to fit different players.

Based on the available information, the core model will go all the way down to an 11-wood, while the Tour heads are only on the list in lofts of 15° and 18°.

PXG looks to be offering a lot of options with the Lightning hybrids when it. comes to lofts.
Although the images only show 17° 2-hybrids, digging into the info with each list entry, it appears the Lightning hybrids with go from 2H all the way down to a 34° 8H which should be music to the ears of golfers looking for extra height through the middle of their bag.
No word on technology or materials being used in any of this new series, but with these new clubs on the list, I bet it won't be long before we get all the indepth details, and performance info PXG is known for.
