Gear Smart Podcast: Searching For A $10,000 Golf Ball

You gotta do what you gotta do when you lose a first-run prototype and don't have any other options.

When it comes to golf balls, Callaway Golf's Jason Finley has seen it all. From the first prototypes of the Rule 35 golf ball used by Annika Sörenstam to shoot her record-breaking 59, to the introduction of visual technology with Truvis and the Chrome Soft.

On this week's episode of Gear Smart, Jason joins host Ryan Barath (me), to discuss the origins of Callaway's golf ball business and how bold decisions like Truvis and Triple Track helped to pioneer a whole new segment of golf balls in the market. Jason also shares the story of the initial prototypes brought to the Ely Callaway Performance Center and what happened when they lost one.

The full episode is available now on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, along with all other major podcast platforms, plus video clips distributed across Skratch social channel and the dedicated Gear Smart Instagram page.
